Drill pumps have their downfalls. Their limited capacity and lack of power can be a real pain, especially when you’re trying to transfer fluids over longer distances. The flow is also pretty low compared to larger stationary pumps, which can be frustrating.

#4 J137 Drill Pump Review

J137 Drill Pump

J137 drill pump is easy to use – just put it in the water and let ‘er rip. We’ve used it to move water around our property from one place to another, and it works like a charm. Plus, you don’t have to worry about priming or anything – this baby does it on its own. Highly recommend!

J137 Pump Drill is an electric drill pump with a self-priming mechanism. It transfers water from one place to another without human intervention.

Do you need a pump that can handle transferring light liquid materials like water and seawater, oil, dilute organic solvents, and insecticide? And you’re also on a budget? If you do, J137 is an ideal drill pump for under $30. However, the quality of the pump is low.

So if you’re looking for something that will give you years of use, I recommend spending a little bit more money and getting something else. But this drill pump could be worth considering if you’re just looking for a cheap way to get the job done in the short term.

FAQ

Can I run the drill pump in the reverse direction?

Do not run the pump backward as it can cause serious damage to the pump.

Can I run the drill pump by hand?

No, Drill pumps must be chucked to the drill. Chucking the drill will ensure that your drill doesn’t slip. It is an easy process that only takes a minute or two.

Can I submerge the pump in the water?

No, these drill pumps are not underwater pumps. So, you can’t submerge them in the water. On the other hand, it’ll throw some water into the drill, and the drill will burn out.

Can I use the drill pumps with flammable fluids?

There are some drills specially designed for flammable fluids. In most cases, diesel and kerosene can be pumped without any issue. But the petrol moisture is highly flammable and quickly catches fire. Therefore, it’s not smart to pump highly flammable fluids like petrol.

How to Avoid Corrosion of Drill Pumps?

Silicone grease helps prevent rust and corrosion. It also improves airflow by letting the fan blades move at high speed. To apply, remove the black housing screws and cover, put a bit of silicone grease on the housing where the rubber fan blades touch, then reassemble.

The pump should be lubricated with a product such as silicone spray lubricant, which will provide adequate lubrication for the internal parts.
